Mâ•shiakh according to Ram•ba"m:

(Not Scripture, but way greater than any rabbis since)
Ram•ba"m knew: Mâ•shiakh "a work in progress," not "mission accomplished"
Mishneih Torah (mishnetorah.com)

Mi•shᵊneih Tor•âhSeiphër Sho•phᵊt•im, Hi•lᵊk•ot Mᵊlâkh•im u-Mi•lᵊkhâm•ot
(literal translation, of the Hebrew text, © 2012 by Yi•rᵊmᵊyâhu Bën-Dâ•wid)

The following is translated from "The Mishᵊneih Tor•âh Project":

Maqbili, Yokhai, Collator and Chief Editor; Qara, Yᵊkhieil and Gershoni, Hileil, eds. Rab•einu Mōshëh Bën-Mayᵊmōn, Seiphër Mishᵊneih Tōr•âh, Third Edition. Yi•sᵊrâ•eil: Yᵊshivâh "Or wᵊ-Yᵊshuâh (Haifa) in cooperation with Yᵊshivâh "Torat ha-Khaim" (Yᵊru•shâ•layim), 5769 (2009), pp. 1243-45) – "Proofed with great precision according to the edition of the [Gâ•on Rabbi Yoseiph] Kapakh."

A cautionary note about the on-line "Mechon-Mamre" text: Compared to the indisputably authoritative "Mi•shᵊn•eih Tor•âh Project" text, faithfully reproducing the text of Rav Yo•seiphpakh (which Mechon-Mamre spells "QaafiH"), the on-line "Mechon-Mamre" text is riddled with errors – for example, there are 11 errors in the first paragraph alone!

Chapter 11

The prospect for Mëlëkh Mâ•shiakh is to be standing up and returning Ma•lᵊkh•ut Beit-Dâ•wid to her old [self], the primary dominion: he is building the Mi•qᵊdâsh, gathering the refugees of Yi•sᵊrâ•eil, and all of the mi•shᵊpât•im are returning in his days like they were from antiquity. We are drawing close [to éé with] qor•bân•ot and making the Shᵊmit•âh and Yo•veil according to all of their mi•tzᵊw•ot told in the Tor•âh.

And everyone who doesn't believe in him, or doesn't await his coming, it's not [merely] the remainder of the Nᵊviy•im alone he denies, but [also] the Tor•âh and Mosh•ëh [as well], that indeed Tor•âh testified about it, as it says:

Then éé will return [you from] your captivity and have ra•kham•im upon you. He will again gather you from all of the am•im… [Even] if you shall be refugees at the end of the heavens – from there, éé your Ël•oh•im shalll gather you up from there… and from there He shall take you. Then éé your Ël•oh•im shall bring you…" (Dᵊvâr•im 30.3-5).

And these are the dᵊvâr•im explained in Tor•âh. They include all of the dᵊvâr•im that are told by the hand of all of the Nᵊviy•im.

Also in pâ•râsh•at Bil•âm it is said, And there, [Bil•âm] prophesies two mᵊshikh•im: of the first mâ•shiakh, that he is Dâ•wid, ùÑÆäåÉùÑÄéòÇ Yi•sᵊrâ•eil from the hand of their oppressors; and of the second mâ•shiakh who shall stand up from his descendants, ùÑÆîåÉùÑÄéòÇ Yi•sᵊrâ•eil from the descendants of Ei•sau.

And there it says, "I shall see him, but not here-and-now" (bᵊ-Mi•dᵊbar 24.17)
this is Dâ•wid.
"I shall surveil him, but not in the near-future" [ibid.]
this is ha-Mëlëkh ha-Mâ•shiakh.
"Enroute was a star from Ya•a•qov" [ibid.]
this is Dâ•wid.
"åÀ÷Èí ùÑÅáÆè from Yi•sᵊrâ•eil." [ibid.]
this is ha-Mëlëkh ha-Mâ•shiakh.
"and smiting-through the ôÌÇàÂúÅé of Mo•âv" [ibid.]
this is Dâ•wid; and so it says, "Then he struck Mo•âv, and measured them by a measuring-line" (Shᵊmu•eil Beit 8.2),
"and he tore-down all of the sons of Seit" [bᵊ-Mi•dᵊbar 24.17].
this is ha-Mëlëkh ha-Mâ•shiakh, for it is said in him: "and his rule is from sea unto sea." ( Zᵊkhar•yâh 9.10).
"then shall Εd•om have been a heritage" (bᵊ-Mi•dᵊbar 24.18.)
this is Dâ•wid, for it is said, "Then Εd•om shall belong to Dâ•wid for workers…" (combined: Shᵊmu•eil Beit 8.6 & 14).
"Then Sei•ir shall be a heritage – of its enemies" (24.18.)
this is ha-Mëlëkh ha-Mâ•shiakh, for it is said, "Then went up îåÉùÑÄòÄéí on Har Tzi•yon, to adjudicate Har Ei•sau" (O•vad•yâh 1.21).

Even in regard to the cities of refuge, it says: 'Then if éé will expand your borders… you must add three more cities, above these three' (Dᵊvâr•im 19.8-9). This command was never fulfilled. But ha-Qâ•dosh, bâ•rukh hu did not command for vanity. However, in the words of the Nᵊviy•im – no issue requires evidence, for all of the scrolls are filled with this issue.

Don't presume that ha-Mëlëkh ha-Mâ•shiakh must make signs or wonders, or innovate dᵊvâr•im in the o•lam, or resuscitate the dead, or such issuing of these dᵊvâr•im that the bozos are saying. No such dâ•vâr!

Because look, Rabi A•qi was a greater Khâ•khâm than the Kha•khâm•im of the Mishᵊnâh, and he was bearing arms of-Kozeiv•â ha-mëlëkh, and [Rabi A•qi] was saying about [Bar-Kokh] that he was the Mëlëkh Mâ•shiakh. And [Rabi A•qi] thought (as did all of the Kha•khâm•im of his generation) that [Bar-Kokh] was the Mëlëkh Mâ•shiakh, until he was killed in his â•won•ot. When he was killed, it became known that he was not the Mâ•shiakh – but the Kha•khâm•im didn't ask of him any signs or wonders.

The principle of ha-dᵊvâr•im is this: that this is the Tor•âh – neither her khuq•im nor her mi•shᵊpât•im are changing lᵊ-o•lâm and lᵊ-o•lâm of o•lâm•im and we aren't to add to them or diminish from them. [Dᵊvâr•im 13.1] And the one who is adding or who has diminished, or has misconstruedTor•âh Yᵊtzi•âh (Hellenized to \'\'Exodus\'\').','#dfefff', 260)"; onMouseout="hideddrivetip()">or who will have thrown out ha-dᵊvâr•im of the mi•tzᵊw•ot from their pᵊshut – Look, this is, of course, a râ•sha and an Epicurean.

Then if a mëlëkh shall stand from Beit-Dâ•wid, who ponders Tor•âh and is busying himself in her mi•tzᵊw•ot like Dâ•wid, his father; according to Tor•âh shë-bikh•tâv and shë-Bᵊal Pëh, and he will bend all of Yi•sᵊrâ•eil toward walking in her, and toward fortifying her breach, and he shall battle the battles of éé; look, this, presumption: that he is the Mâ•shiakh.

If he did [this], and he shall have succeeded [in this] and and he shall have vanquished all the nations surrounding him; and he shall have built the Mi•qᵊdâsh in its place, and he shall have gathered the refugees of Yi•sᵊrâ•eil, he is, of course, the Mâ•shiakh.

But if he hasn't succeeded [in doing these things] so far, or he was killed, it's well known that this isn't what Tor•âh promised about him; and, look, he is like all of the completely kosher ma•lâkh•ei Beit-Dâ•wid who died, then ha-Qâ•dosh, bâ•rukh hu, didn't cause him to stand, except to test many. As it is said (Dâniy•eil 11.34-5)

["Some intellectuals shall stumble, smelting [these slippery slopes], clarifying and explaining until the season of the qeitz; because [there will be] more-of-the-same toward the Mo•eid."]

[Clearly not the Christian Jesus]

Even Yei•shua the Nâ•tzᵊri, who seemed like he would become the Mâ•shiakh but he was killed by the beit dinDâniy•eil had already prophesied about him, as it is said:

Then breachers of your kindred shall bear aloft an idol-image to stand it up; but they shall stumble." (ibid. 11.14);

And is there any greater stumbling-block than that? For all of the Nᵊviy•im stated that the Mâ•shiakh ransoms Yi•sᵊrâ•eil, saves their nation, gathers their refugees and fortifies her mi•tzᵊwâh. But the Jesus idol has caused Yi•sᵊrâ•eil to be lost by the sword, caused the dispersement and demeaning of our remnant, the displacement of the Tor•âh and misled the majority of the o•lam to err – to serve a god [that is] "beside é‑‑ä."

Rainbow Rule

Note: Ram•ba"m is correct that Yei•shua is the stumblingblock to which Dâniy•eil referred in 11.14.

However, in blaming a Pᵊrush•im Beit Din (rather than a Hellenist pseudo-Tzᵊdoq•im (Judean) Συνέδριον under the patronage of the Hellenist Roman occupiers) for the crucifixion of Ribi Yᵊho•shua, Ram•ba"m displays an uncharacteristic ignorance of Tal•mud and Ha•lâkh•âh (e.g., the harsh criticisms that acknowledge existence of the Hellenist Tzᵊdoq•im Ko•han•im Boethus family for their collaboration and intermarrying with the Hellenist Roman occupiers, see Ma•sëkët Rosh ha-Shân•âh 22b; Yᵊru•shal•mi Ma•sëkët Rosh ha-Shân•âh 57d; To•sëphᵊtâ Ma•sëkët Rosh ha-Shân•âh 1.15; Ma•sëkët Mᵊnâkh•ot 10.3; Ma•sëkët Khagig•âh 24; Ma•sëkët Eiruv•in 68b) and basic history that was known in his day – not to mention the irresponsible folly of corroborating the basic Christian blood libel that the Jews killed Christ. This was all known in Ram•ba"m's day – centuries before the Dead Sea Scrolls were published removing all doubt. Under Roman occupation, the Beit Din had no authority to impose capital punishment.

Josephus recorded the relationship between the Boethus family, Hellenist Tzᵊdoq•im denying the resurrection (unlike both of the other sects) and collaborating – and intermarrying – with the Hellenist Roman occupiers (into Herod's family; Antiquities, 15.320; The Netzarim Reconstruction of Hebrew Matityahu (NHM) note 22.16.1).

Dead Sea Scroll (4Q) MMT (Mi•qᵊtz•at Ma•as•ëh ha-Tor•âh) has, even further, clarified the distinct three sects of the 1st century Jewish community only mentioned, but not defined or well-distinguished, by Josephus to which Ram•ba"m had access.

Dâniy•eil seems to have been familiar with, and repulsed by, the emerging "seceders" who would, in the next 50-100 years, become the Pᵊrush•im. At roughly the same time, the Kᵊhun•âh, headed by Khonyo (Yᵊkhon•yâh) Bën-Shim•on (2) Bën-Tzâ•doq was usurped by his rabidly Hellenist brother, Yᵊho•shua ("Jason") Bën-Shim•on II Bën-Tza•doq – dooming the "Temple" to the control of Hellenist (pseudo) Tzᵊdoq•im until its destruction in 70 CE. Thus, three sects were created:

  1. the expelled original Tzᵊdoq•im Ko•han•im, who next show up in the Dead Sea Scrolls as Qum•rân Tzᵊdoq•im,

  2. the Hellenist usurper pseudo-Tzᵊdoq•im Ko•han•im, who control their somewhat-Hellenized "Temple," and

  3. lay Jews, most of whom became "seceders" – Pᵊrush•im.

Consequently, the "Jews" described as "Temple priests" subsequent to the Ma•kab•im – explicitly the ones who convened this Beit Din that Ram•ba"m speaks of in the "Temple," according to the accounts: at night (contravening Ha•lâkh•âh) on a Jewish holy day (contravening Ha•lâkh•âh) were the Hellenist Tzᵊdoq•imnot Pᵊrush•im (or the original, legitimate, Tzᵊdoq•im)!

This is further demonstrated as the Hellenist Tzᵊdoq•im then turned Ribi Yᵊho•shua over to their Hellenist Roman operators, and it is the Hellenist Romans – not (anti-Hellenist) Pᵊrush•im – who convicted him of a political charge – being a king rivaling Caesar – and the Roman Praetorian Guard crucified him and guarded his tomb. "…even the charge for which Yehoshua was executed, nailed above his head ["King of the Jews" – not messiah or Christ], explicitly proves that Yehoshua was executed by Romans for a political charge of sedition against Caesar. One need only ask, Who among the Jews were cooperating with the hated Roman occupiers? The Pseudo-Tzᵊdoq•im – alone." (The Netzarim Reconstruction of Hebrew Matityahu (NHM) notes 27.27.1 & 27.25.2).

Ram•ba"m shouldn't have needed Dead Sea Scroll (4Q) MMT (Mi•qᵊtz•at Ma•as•ëh ha-Tor•âh) to figure that out. I didn't! (I published this beginning in the early 1970s in The Netzarim Reconstruction of Hebrew Matityahu (NHM).)

Rainbow Rule

"But the Thoughts of Bo•rei -o•lam, â•dâm hasn't the power to grasp, because our ways are not His Ways, nor are our thoughts His Thoughts. All ha-dᵊvâr•im of Yei•shua the Nâ•tzᵊri, and of this Ishmaelite that stood after him, these don't straighten the way for Mëlëkh Mâ•shiakh or to repair ha-o•lam, all of it working for éé together, as it is said,

Because then I will turn over a lucid language to the kindreds; for all of them to call the Name of éé, to [be] one shoulder working for Him. (Tzᵊphan•yâh 3.9)

How? Already, all of ha-o•lam has been filled mi-Di•vᵊrei ha-Mâ•shiakh, and mi-Di•vᵊrei ha-Tor•âh, and mi-Di•vᵊrei ha-mi•tzᵊw•ot, and these dᵊvâr•im have spread in distant isles, and among many uncircumcised-of-heart kindreds; and they are haggling away these dᵊvâr•im, and the mi•tzᵊw•ot Tor•âh. Some [uncircumcised-of-heart kindreds] are saying, "These mi•tzᵊw•ot were true, but have already been vitiated at this time, and haven't been channeling [anyone's path] for generations." While others are saying "There are secret dᵊvâr•im in them, and they aren't like the simple [meaning] and the Mâ•shiakh has already come and revealed their secrets".

But when the Mëlëkh ha- Mâ•shiakh shall truly stand, and succeed and be exalted and borne-aloft, immediately, they are all returning, and knowing that it was a lie inherited from their fathers, and that their prophets and fathers caused them to err.

As our guest in the 'Nᵊtzâr•im Quarter' (NQ) virtual village (take the tour at bottom), it is our tᵊphil•âh that you find our village accommodations as pleasant, satisfying and rewarding as we can make them, considering that the historical Ribi Yᵊho•shua Bën-Dâ•wid revealed by modern scholarly research may be disconcerting to some who tend to put their faith in the teaching of men – whether rabbis or preachers – instead of the Word of éé.

Orthodox Jews will be absolutely gobsmacked to discover that, while Orthodox Jews are diametrically antithetical to the displacement mythology of Christianity and Jesus – so are the Nᵊtzâr•im!

In fact, except for the Nᵊtzâr•im insistence on the precedence of science and logic over Dark Ages anti-knowledge, Nᵊtzâr•im are otherwise defined the same as Orthodox Jews!

Other than the Nᵊtzâr•im, “dosim” (dât•im) Jews are indoctrinated from birth in a distorted view of documented Judaic history—particularly from the advent of rabbis (B.C.E. 2nd century) through 4th century C.E.; and the more “dosi”, the more negative their view of science (“epikoros”) and the wider their disconnection from the reality of the modern world. This leads to radical Ultra-Orthodox cults prohibiting science and knowledge, resulting in an ever-widening disconnection from the reality of the real universe created by é‑‑ä.
