Nәtzarim in 1st-century Judaism |
To Be a Legitimate Follower of Ribi Yehoshua Requires Following the Example Set by Ribi Yehoshua and his Immediate Followers — the Nәtzarim:
Oxford historian James Parkes (The Conflict of the Church and the Synagogue) and others have demonstrated that the 4th century Roman version of J*e*s*u*s' teachings are diametrically opposite to the pre-135 C.E. Judaic teachings (corroborated, inter alia by Dead Sea Scroll 4Q MMT) of Ribi Yehoshua and his immediate Jewish followers, the Nәtzarim. The Hellenized, 4th century Roman teachings of J*e*s*u*s and the church are, accordingly, apostate; and the pope, being successor to the gentile bishop who usurped the 15th Nәtzarim Paqid to found the papacy (and then fabricate a legendary line back to their Christianized idea of "St. Peter"), is the embodiment of the antichrist, identified in Who Are the Netzarim? (WAN) by the cryptic number 666.
All of the source documents (comprehensive citations are found in our books and materials) clearly show that in the 1st — 4th centuries, the Nәtzarim were the only legitimate followers of Ribi Yehoshua, preserving his teachings authentically in the legitimate, halakhic, Jewish community. It is documented and even acknowledged by Christian scholars that, until 333 C.E. when the church finally annihilated the Nәtzarim, labeling us "servants of Satan under the law of sin and death and enemies of the Church," the Nәtzarim lived amicably among our fellow Pәrushim.
The critical point, absolutely essential to understanding these things, is this: you must stop the confusing of two polar opposites as if they are one and the same person — and teaching. Otherwise, all contradictions are glossed over by deferring them to an impossible oxymoron of two mutually exclusive and self-contradicting, polar-opposite arch-enemies assumed to co-exist in "J*e*s*u*s" (This is what allows Christians to acknowledge "Jewishness" of "J*e*s*u*s" and still identify with Christianity because, no matter how contradictory that may be, they claim they're still following "J*e*s*u*s.")
When a Christian speaks of the post-135 C.E. Christian version, you must recognize that this is the Roman-Hellenist idol J*e*s*u*s — even when the Christian calls it by a Hebrew name. You must correct the Christian before any meaningful communication can continue. When a Christian speaks of the pre-135 C.E. Judaic figure, you must recognize that this is the actual historical Jewish Pәrushi Ribi — even when the Christian slanders him by calling him J*e*s*u*s. You must correct the Christian before any meaningful communication can continue. When a Jew speaks of the post-135 C.E. Christian version, you must recognize that this is the Roman-Hellenist idol J*e*s*u*s — even when the Jew, ignorantly, calls it by a Hebrew name. You must correct the Jew before any meaningful communication can continue. When a Jew speaks of the pre-135 C.E. Judaic figure, you must recognize that this is the actual historical Jewish Pәrushi Ribi — even when the Jew slanders him by calling him J*e*s*u*s. You must correct the Jew before any meaningful communication can continue.
Neither Ribi Yehoshua nor י--ה has changed. The same is no less true today. Only those practicing the same religion, and within the same community (whether Jew or non-Jew geir), as Ribi Yehoshua are authentic or legitimate. (Documentation and details in the book Who Are the Netzarim? (WAN).)
The Nәtzarim of today, like Ribi Yehoshua and his immediate Nәtzarim followers in their time, are the only followers of Ribi Yehoshua to reject the Hellenist (Roman pagan) apostasy of the antichrist and restore his authentic — pre-135 C.E. Judaic (as demonstrated from Dead Sea Scroll 4Q MMT) — teachings in the religious community with which Ribi Yehoshua identified: the Pәrushim (today's Orthodox, i.e., legitimate, Jewish Community) and in legitimate, i.e. Orthodox, Judaism. Therefore, the Nәtzarim are the only followers or Ribi Yehoshua who can possibly be legitimate!!! All others professing to follow the displacement theology apostasy of the Roman-Hellenists and their antichrist — regardless of the name they cite (J*e*s*u*s, Yehoshua, Yeshua, et al.) — have been deceived, and are deceiving others, into the synagogue described in Revelation 2.9 & 3.9!!!

Sable (black) symbolized constancy or grief. Or (gold) symbolized generosity. The heraldic term crest refers to only one component of a complete achievement. The crest, if present, rests on top of a helm (helmet), which rests on the most important part of the achievement—the escutcheon (shield) and not all coats-of-arms have the special distinction of having been awarded a crest. Thus, "family crest" is often misused. Further, neither family crest nor coat-of-arms automatically follow surnames; each individual must genealogically demonstrate its inheritance.) The plume (usually ostrich feathers) rewarded obedience and denoted serenity. The pale (vertical bar) was awarded for military strength and fortitude. The chief (upper section of the shield) represents dominion and authority. The fess (horizontal bar) marked the awarding of a military belt or girdle of honor. Estoiles (six-rayed, unless otherwise declared, stars with wavy lines) are emblems of (three charges of) Divine (celestial) endowments of nobility. |
Paqid Yirmәyahu Ben-Dawid, né Clint Van Nest (1943.05.29), is a former Baptist minister who attended Hampden DuBose Academy. He is a member of Mensa and an American vet of the USAF Air Intelligence Agency (security clearance: Top Secret, Crypto, Codeword), who served in Germany and was honorably discharged after a 4-year tour of duty. Clint earned a B.Sc. from the University of Fla. (Gainesville) in 1968. He has done graduate work in computer science (becoming a member of I.E.E.E. and A.C.M.) and worked as a Safety Engineer (becoming a member of A.S.S.E.) for a large insurance company in Canada and New England, as Personnel Director for a large trucking and construction firm in Florida (reporting directly to the owner) and as a Software Engineer entrepreneur in Israel. He made aliyah to Israel under the Law of Return in 1985 and served in the Israel Defense Forces reserves and as a volunteer in the Israeli police reserves. His great- x6 grandfather, Pieter Pieterse Van Nest, immigrated to New Amsterdam — before there was a New York or United States — in 1647, just 25 years after the Mayflower.
After years of research into the numerous contradictions of Christian doctrine (see Who Are the Nәtzarim? in the Nәtzarim Judaica Shoppe of our Mall), Clint and his wife, Karen, who studied with him, began to do their best to keep Torah and legally changed their names (Orange County Circuit Court, FL; 1983) to be as much like their first-century Ribi Yәhoshua, as they could. All during this time, Karen worked as a dental hygienist to support them so he could do the research and resolve their concerns about the many contradictions in Christianity. Since, she has continued working so that he can now make this information accessible to others.
To forestall misunderstandings in the Jewish community, Yirmәyahu immediately informed the head of the local (Central FL) Jewish Community Center and a local rabbi of his new name and that he was doing his best to become like a Jew, not professing to be a Jew and not wanting anyone to jump to the wrong conclusions and be deceived.
After a considerable period interacting with the local Jewish community, openly professing his positions as a follower of Ribi Yәhoshua as the Mashiakh and concealing nothing, Yirmәyahu was astounded when an Orthodox rabbi agreed to convert him — the first openly-professing follower of Ribi Yәhoshua since 333 C.E. to be legitimized in the same community — and authentic teachings — in which Ribi Yәhoshua and his original followers lived, taught and interacted: the mainstream and legitimate Orthodox Jewish community!
People sometimes wonder why his last name is בן-דוד (Bën-Dâ·wid′ or "Ben-David") rather than בן-אברהם ("Bën-Avrâhâm). In that case, his daugher's last name, despite being a born Israeli Jewess, would also be Bën-Avrâhâm. So would all of his progeny. Obviously, people who ask such a question are not only ignorant about transgressing Halâkhâh (it's prohibited to mention a Jew's conversion), they're ignorant of something else too. We've resisted publishing this information because we don't want "messianics" and other Christians learning from us how to become better counterfeits and look more like Orthodox Jews when they're not.
It would be rare that any Orthodox Jew's last name is the same as his official Hebrew name: the name he was given at his Bәrit Milâh or a daughter is given somewhat later. This name is always a first name to which the father's first name is appended. So, if a man named Shәmu·eil′ Bën-Yә·hud′ âh has a son and names the son Yo·seiph′ , the son's name is forever Yo·seiph′ Bën-Shәmu·eil′ . Yet, for most everyday purposes, the boy would be known as Yo·seiph′ Bën-Yә·hud′ âh. However, he would always be called to Torah as Yo·seiph′ Bën-Shәmu·eil′ .
Similarly, if this same Shәmu·eil′ Bën-Yә·hud′ âh has a daughter and calls her Tsip′ i then her official Hebrew name would always be Tsip′ i Bat-Shәmu·eil′ . Yet, for most everyday purposes, she would be identified as Tsip′ i Bën-Yә·hud′ âh (not Bat-Yә·hud′ âh). However, her "real" Hebrew name would always remain Tsip′ i Bat-Shәmu·eil′ .
Pâqid Yirmәyâhu, ha-Tzadiq is called to Torâh by his "official" Judaic name: Yirmәyâhu Bën--Avrâhâm Âv·i′ nu.
Paqid Yirmeyahu's (and Karen's) conversions are thoroughly documented by Orthodox rabbis and Orthodox batei-din. Today, Paqid Yirmeyahu and Karen — and their Israeli-born, native Hebrew-speaking Jewess daughter Yaeil —
are in good standing where they attend the Teimâni Orthodox Beit-ha-Kәnësët Morëshët Âvot – Yad Nâ·âmi, in Ra·ananah
(pop. Ra'anana), Israel — and Pâqid Yirmәyâhu, ha-Tzadiq is a member of the amutâh (board).
After completing most of a Master's program in computer science, in 1985 he made aliyah to Israel with his wife Karen who had converted with him under the Law of Return. His Israeli ID card lists him as יהודי (Yәhudi). They settled in Ra·ananah, a small town about 12 km north of Teil Aviv where they now reside.
Until his retirement, Paqid Yirmeyahu served miluim (reserve duty) in the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) and, when he has time, serves as a reserve police officer in Ra·ananah.
In 2004, Yaeil graduated from the Amit Orthodox Jewish high school in Ra·ananah. In 2003 she made the Israel Debate team to the European championship but, due to conflicts in her schedule, wasn't able to go to the competition. That summer, she completed a science project at The Technion. She also made the finals in the 2004 Young Israel Scientists Fair and, during the summer, participated in a science project at M.I.T. In her senior year of high school, she was president of the 2004 student council, on the yearbook committee and founder of the debating society in the Amit schools. She is presently working toward her bachelor of science in life (biological) sciences at TAU (Tel Aviv University) in Israel in the IDF under an officer's candidate scholarship program.
Rampant internecine slandering and impugning has, sadly, become rife throughout the Orthodox Jewish community, including irresponsible Orthodox rabbis slandering and impugning other Orthodox rabbis with impunity (see 'Convention Cener' Archives). This occurs at all levels of the rabbinic world and throughout all sects of Orthodox Judaism. Leshon ha-Ra (slander) and sinat khinam (baseless hatred) against the Nәtzarim by some negligent and irresponsible Orthodox rabbis who don't bother to check carefully, and by hate-mongering "anti-missionary" groups, is no worse than that suffered by other Orthodox Jews, even by Orthodox rabbis slandered by other Orthodox rabbis.
Documentation is available from our Nәtzarim Judaica Shoppe in our Mall. Paqid Yirmeyahu's introductory book, Who Are the Netzarim? (WAN), includes a photocopy of a letter from the Office of the Chief Rabbi of Israel extending the then-Chief Rabbi's blessings to him with wishes for his success.
Those who claim to follow Ribi Yehoshua but aren't accepted by any recognized authority in the same community in which Ribi Yehoshua lived and interacted — the Orthodox (Perushim) community and batei- k'neset — are deceivers described in Rev. 2:9 & 3:9, foisting Displacement Theology and a misojudaic, antinomian, counterfeit messiah, playing an insidious game of 'pretend Judaism' — producing pretend salvation!
