2003.09.26 The Jerusalem Post, 2003.09.24, p. 4 – The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) issued its annual report just before Yom Tᵊru•âh. At the end of 2002, of 6.631 million people (down from 6.7 million), 76.8% (5.09 million) are Jews, approx. 1.03 million [15.5%] are Muslim Arabs, 140,000 are Arab-Christians, 108,000 are Druse and the rest are "other."

There are an average of 300 people per square kilometer (compared to 29 people per square kilometer in the U.S., three in Canada and two in Australia).
