2005.05.24 – Over the last 20 years, the only movies I've seen worth the price of the ticket was Lion King and Matrix. In the grammar of Star Wars III (SW-3) long-eared little green character, master Yoda: if memory serves, even for Matrix to be shown on TV, I waited.
For those who don't bother to go see SW-3, the only things you will miss is one of the most boring plots (with "light saber" sword fights that go on interminably with yawning tediousness) in modern movies; and the key to my remarks below: that, in SW-3, director George Lucas calls his movie's evil-force villains the Sith.
There is, however, an insidious underlying theme that Lucas has slipped right past the Fox News evangelists, who blindly interpret everything as an attack on Pres. George Bush, the Republicans and Conservatives and, only after exhausting these candidates, an attack on Christians. Consequently, when the prophesied righteous messiah, Anakin Skywalker who is transforming into evil-villain Darth Vader, says, "If you're not with me, you're my enemy," the Fox team, noting a recent quote by Pres. Bush, are satisfied by their first priority: the messiah-turning-evil-villain portrays Pres. George Bush as the real evil villain. However, none of the superficial Fox evangelists know their New Testament. They have yet to recognize that Pres. Bush was quoting the New Testament (Lu. 11.23)! Years before Pres. Bush even came to office, much less uttered those words, George Lucas had already penned Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader's quotation of the first-century Jew from Galilee.
Lucas confirms this by having the SW-3 hero, Jedi master, Obi-Wan Kenobe declare: " You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them. It was you who would bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness!" This, for those who may not know, is the typical attitude attributed to Jews to the first-century regarding the Jew from Galilee – as proclaimed by the Christian Church.
Thus, SW-3 isn't about Pres. George Bush. Rather, SW-3 employs Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader in a futuristic setting to subtly — too subtly for average movie pundits to recognize — depict the first-century Jew, who, at first, is thought to be the prophesied messiah, but later evolves into an evil, arch-villain anti-Christ.
SW-3 insidiously uses this subliminal theme to promote the long-running Hollywood-liberal agnostic religion, which holds Biblical-related religions are an evil absolutism threatening some new order society where Biblical values, being "absolutes" (against homosexuality, etc.) are evil; implying that relativism (on homosexuality, abortion, etc.) is righteousness. This is conspicuously confirmed in Obi-Wan Kenobe's reply to christ-become-antichrist character's declaration, "If you're not with me, you're my enemy." SW-3 hero Obi-Wan Kenobe, consigning absolutism to the evil Sith empire, then states Hollywood liberals' agenda: "Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes."
He who has eyes, let him see. (No, that quote isn't of George Bush either.) In modern vernacular, He who has a brain, let him think.
