Ra·anana, Israel 2005.11.10 – More than any other people, Israelis condemn terrorists who massacre civilians, including women and children. The suicide bombing of a wedding party in Amman is tragically similar to the suicide bombing of a Passover Seider in Netanyah. More than any other people, Israelis feel the depth of their loss. Our hearts go out to the victims and our willingness to do whatever we can to help the victims and their families is great. Speaking for the Netzarim, we wish for the terrorists responsible to experience the full measure of justice, and we extend our sympathies and condolences to King Abed-Allah (meaning "servant of Allah" in English) and the people of Jordan.

In addition to much of the press, however, both CNN and the BBC are covering up a vital facet essential to understanding the basic nature of the Jordanian bombing. This has long been the norm, especially in Europe. Even Fox, the hypocritical braggart of "no spin fairness," can only point to one of their guest interviewees, former U.S. Ambassador to Morroco, Marc Ginsberg, who twice mentioned that the top Iraqi al-Qaida commander in Iraq, who directed the terrorist bombing in Amman, Abu Musab a-Zarqawi – real name Fadel Nazal a-Khalaileh – is a Jordanian-born Palestinian!

The media meticulously leaves their readers and audiences unapprised of the connection between the Palestinian rift with Jordan and how the Palestinians have been instrumental in the most barbaric acts of terrorism, against Muslims as well as non-Muslims, throughout the Middle East, including Iraq, and their intimate connection to al-Qaida, operating at the very top of its top leadership. (How often have you heard the media report that the former #3 man in al-Qaida until his capture, Abu Zubaidah, is also a Palestinian?) Such journalism is blatantly biased, unethical, unprofessional and irresponsible.

As long as the media continues to keep the public in the dark concerning matters that the individual media regards as politically inconvenient, and each country allows its people to know only the slant it finds politically convenient, no consensus against the terrorist beast can develop. To suggest that there are no connections between Saudi, Egyptian and Palestinian Muslim leadership of al-Qaida terrorism of 9/11, Saudi, Egyptian and Palestinian Muslim leadership of al-Qaida terrorism in 7/11, Saudi, Egyptian and Palestinian Muslim leadership of al-Qaida terrorism in Iraq and Saudi, Egyptian and Palestinian Muslim leadership of al-Qaida terrorism in Amman and Saudi, Egyptian and Palestinian Muslim leadership of al-Qaida terrorism in Israel is denial in the extreme. The terrorist beast is composed of Saudi, Egyptian and Palestinian Muslims. H-e-l-l-o-o.

The terrorist beast has a Saudi Muslim head with an Egyptian Muslim brain and Palestinian Muslim limbs — all enlivened and empowered by its Islamic body.

Terrorism cannot be contained until at least two things happen:

  1. All countries agree to a shared definition that condemns all targeting of civilian non-combatants without excepting Jews or Israel: "A campaign of premeditated violence intentionally and specifically directed against a civilian group of non-combatants"; and

  2. The media scrupulously begins to report the entirety of the terrorist beast, with all of the parts connected and in perspective.

One man's terrorist cannot be another man's "freedom fighter." Legitimate freedom fighters don't wage "a campaign of premeditated violence intentionally and specifically directed against a civilian group of non-combatants." That must define a terrorist in everyone's books — especially their schoolbooks. Moderate Muslims, even moderate Palestinians themselves, seem to be beginning to realize, and reject, the beast they have unleashed.

Everyone can agree that the bombing in Amman was terrorism and is anathema to every civilized person and all civilized peoples must agree on the definition of terror and commit themselves to bring all terrorists to justice, without exception. Tragically, there will be more terrorist attacks. For me, the biggest question is, When it next happens in Israel, will Arabs and Muslims be as outspoken, unambiguously opposed and committed to actively cooperating with us to bring the terrorists to justice as Israel is at their loss?
