Inconspicuous and dangerous uncovered deep hole in a backyard. Playing children have fallen and died in holes like this. Some missing children who were never found may be entombed in holes like this.

If a person uncovers a hole, or digs a hole and fails to cover it reasonably safely, and an animal, or person, is injured or killed as a result, then the property owner shall be liable to the victim's family or owner of the animal for reasonable damages.

In the case that an animal died because of the hole, the property owner shall also purchase, and take possession, of the dead animal.
