2002.06.03 – Despite the media's penchant for equating tit-for-tat when it doesn't exist, it's clear that the Islamic terrorists who come out of Pakistan-Kashmir and attack non-combatants in Indian Kashmir have been financed, grown and commissioned by Musharraf – albeit while maintaining deniability. Musharraf condemns them with words but without lifting a finger – implicitly supporting terrorism – and claiming to be unable to stop them. These are pages straight out of the handbook of the Master Terrorist: Arafat.
Continued U.S. tunnel-vision focused on short-term tactical considerations in Pakistan are mortgaging America's strategic long-term well-being, short-circuiting cultivation of relations with India. Along with Israel and Turkey, India is critical. Look at a globe. Notice where these three counties are located relative to the major confrontational lines between terrorist-exporting Islamic regimes and the terrorist-afflicted world.
Moreover, America's inconsistency in fighting terror in some places while deliberately ignoring – implicitly sponsoring – terrorism in other places is doomed to self-destruct.
The 'Cold War' – WW-III – was a global conflict pitting the aggressive spread of socialist-communism through the violent expansion of the 'Iron Curtain' of communist rule over democracy. The War on Terror is a global conflict pitting the violently aggressive return to a perceived "Golden Era of Islam” through the violent expansion of a "Crescent Curtain' Sword of Islamic rule over the "Infidels." There are peaceful Muslims. But they are exceptions, pitifully few and impotent. Virtually all terrorists in the world are Muslims driven by the zeal of re-establishing the "Golden Days” of Islamic global rule at any cost. Any cost. They consider "infidel” non-combatants to be cannon fodder.
If not defused, the conflict over containment of the expansion of Islam through exporting terrorism could go nuclear in days – in Islamabad and Delhi instead of Moscow and Washington. If so, it's unlikely that Iran and Iraq could refuse to come to the aid of their brother Islamic terrorists. The War on Terror is at least as serious as yesteryear's 'Cold War.'
Worse, the most threatening and dangerous aspects of the War on Islamic Terror are being glossed over. First, the War on Terror cannot be won until the enemy is identified. This is dependent upon understanding the consequences of a religion hanging solely from the principle of Displacement Theology. The seminal work investigating Displacement Theology, though with respect to Christianity versus Judaism, was conducted by the late Oxford historian, James Parkes (The Conflict of the Church and the Synagogue, A Study in the Origins of Anti-Semitism).
A religion dependent for its validity upon having displaced, superseded, another religion or people is existentially threatened by the validity of the original religion. This is particularly true when the religions are mutually exclusive and intractably contradictory.
Like Christianity, Islam is a Displacement Theology, dependent upon having displaced and superseded both Christianity and Judaism! Islamic hatred of Christians and Jews is as inherent and unavoidable as centuries of miso-Judaism has been in Christianity. This time around, however, if Muslim Jihadist-terrorists win, Christians will suffer alongside Jews as "infidels." (see also "Religious Crunch & the War on Terror: Displacement Theology.")
The inextricable causality of Displacement Theology in the global War on Terror prompts closer scrutiny of the two Displacement Theologies relative to the so-called “Displaced” Theology – Judaism (again, see also "Religious Crunch & the War on Terror: Displacement Theology.")
