2000.05.11 The Jerusalem Post, p. 2 – "Haredi assailants stoned a vehicle driving in their neighborhood at the beginning of Independence Day celebrations [Day3] evening, smashing its front window and destroying the [Israeli] flag that was tied to the car roof. [Note: (1) this was not a Sha•bâtꞋ and (2) the Jew driving the car may well have been National-Zionist Orthodox.]
"Police who arrived at the scene to assist the motorist also were stoned by scores of Kha•reid•imꞋ who attempted to rock the police van. [Yᵊru•shâ•laꞋyim] police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said police pushed the demonstrators away and cleared the area."
