Using Hebrew Optional?

Blog Subject: working overseas

I just received the book Understanding Judaism:the basics of Deed and Creed today so hopefully my report will be soon. If I work overseas (Iraq or Afghanistan) but don't have access to type or correspond in hebrew will that hinder me from requesting Beit Din to being a Netzarim?

Also, would it be a problem if I were to cut and paste the hebrew words until I can figure out how to download hebrew on my computer and revert back to english without messing it up (not computer literate per se.) I know you have information on downloading hebrew but right now its not working for me.

I'm looking forward to your book review.

You're committing to the practice of Orthodox Ha•lâkh•âhꞋ  – Orthodox Judaism. Hebrew is indivisibly integral. The military eagerly provides every Christian and Muslim need. They must be required to do no less for those who practice Judaism. Refusing to provide access to Guttman Yad script Hebrew font is an element of misojudaism. Part of reorienting to Tor•âhꞋ  and becoming part of Yi•sә•râ•eilꞋ  is learning to stand up for Judaic religious rights. You cannot read or discuss Tor•âhꞋ  without using Hebrew. You cannot pray or discuss tәphil•âhꞋ  without Hebrew. Access to the Guttman Yad script Hebrew font on any computer owned by, or supplied to, you is your religious right and you must fight for it. Xlits are an obstacle to learning Hebrew and are not acceptable for a Nәtzâr•imꞋ . It isn't an option and I have no authority to issue dispensations from the mitz•wotꞋ .

In the past, when blogs were too buggy to use Iv•ritꞋ , we had no alternative. Today, all of the technology is in place and everyone can do it. Cutting and pasting is no different than using xlits; it's a way of skirting the learning and use of Hebrew – which is essential for your study and discussion of Tor•âhꞋ  and tәphil•otꞋ . You must learn to read and write עברית, including script עברית. Insistence on reading and writing עברית is for your learning and benefit, not ours. We know how to read and write בעברית. Cutting and pasting would completely negate that. So, no, it's not acceptable.

Be careful not to get in the mode of "what mitz•wotꞋ  can I perhaps avoid." That orientation will not make the grade. The Nәtzâr•imꞋ  approach is "how can I perform more mitz•wotꞋ  and offer up better tәphil•otꞋ  and bәrâkh•otꞋ ?

Stay the course.
