2012.02.21, 1500 – The gaping chasm of contradiction between Tor•âhꞋ and ancient Ha•lâkh•âhꞋ, on the one hand, versus the "Orthodoxy" of the Ultra-Orthodox Rabbinate, is widening into a gaping chasm.
For bringing the same basic message as R. Michael Skobac and R. Shmuley Boteach to public awareness—only far earlier, since the mid-1970s, I and my family have suffered slander and extortion from Jewish "anti-missionaries" and immoderate extremist rabbis for over a quarter century, from some of the same immoderate extremist rabbis who now attack R. Boteach for his book, Kosher Jesus".
For 27 years our family has lived as Orthodox Israeli Jews in good standing, the last decade praying in the Orthodox Yemenite synagogue (Moreshet Avot) as a member of the Amutah. My daughter, now in her 20s, was born a Jewess sabarit, educated exclusively in the dât•iꞋ school system, graduating from Amit (Orthodox high school) as the president of the student body, delivering the commencement address and featured in the international Amit magazine for her achievements in science.
My research of more than half a century includes translating the Διαθηκη Καινη (NT) from ALL of the earliest extant source mss. up through the 4th century C.E. and reconstructing Hebrew Ma•tit•yâhꞋu ha-Leiw•iꞋ, which, according to Eusebius, is the only account of the 1st century RibꞋi Yᵊho•shuꞋa that his original Jewish Nᵊtzâr•imꞋ followers accepted (The Nᵊtzâr•imꞋ Reconstruction of Hebrew Ma•ti•tᵊyâhꞋu (NHM)). The original Nᵊtzâr•imꞋ refused the entire–Greek–Christian Διαθηκη Καινη (NT) as apostasy. This research incorporated all of the most eminent historians (e.g., Oxford historian James Parkes, see "The Conflict of the Church and the Synagogue"), the Apocrypha, Pseudepigrapha, Talmud, the Targumim and the Dead Sea Scrolls—particularly (4Q) MMT (Miq•sat′ Ma•as•ëh′ ha-Tor•âh′).
MMT proved that the 1st century Yᵊho•shuꞋa could only be a Pharisee RibꞋi who taught Tor•âhꞋ in Bât•eiꞋ-ha-kᵊnësꞋët (Hellenized to Greek "synagogues") in Hebrew and Aramaic and was antipodal to the post-135 C.E. Greek-speaking Hellenist Sadducees and Greek-speaking Hellenist Roman occupiers who originated Christianity (see also my book, Who Are the Netzarim? Live-Link (e-WAN Live-Link)). Here, it should stick out like a roach floating in a punch bowl that the Διαθηκη Καινη (NT) was originally written in Greek.
My research resulted in my wife and I making a journey never traveled before—from idolatrous doctrines of YeshꞋ"u, lᵊ-hav•dilꞋ, to the Tor•âhꞋ teachings of the Pharisee RibꞋi Yᵊho•shuꞋa—in the same, trail-blazing, way as Av•râ•hâmꞋ. My work was, and continues to be, motivated by the desire to [a] rescue and redeem the reputation of the 1st century Pharisee RibꞋi who has been falsely cloaked in the feculence of idolatry (áÌÀâÈãÄéí öåÉàÄéí, Zᵊkhar•yâhꞋ 3.1-10) and [b] enable sincere Christians to discover (like I and my wife and my parents and many Christians since) the historically factual teaching of the 1st century Pharisee RibꞋi in a life-practice of Tor•âhꞋ .
For all of the past quarter century and more, the "anti-missionaries" and some (not all) rabbis have threatened to reverse our conversion—declaring our daughter a "goy•âh," preventing her from registering with the Rabbinate to marry—if I don't take down our website (www.netzarim.co.il); a classic case of extortion. However, just as Av•râ•hâmꞋ was willing to confront the A•qeid•âhꞋ of his only son Yitz•khâqꞋ, similarly, I entrust our only daughter to é‑‑ä in our own A•qeid•âhꞋ. I serve é‑‑ä, not a bunch of tyrannical øÉòÇé äÈàÁìÄéì who have alienated 90% of the flock (moderate Orthodox, Conservatives, Reform and secular Jews) from Tor•âhꞋ (Zᵊkhar•yâhꞋ 11.16-17; Yᵊkhëz•qeilꞋ 34; Yi•rᵊmᵊyâhꞋu 10.21; 23.1-8; 3.15).
My wife and I were converted by 2 Orthodox rabbis in 1984, one of whom was ordained by the President of the Beit Din of America (BDA)!!! R. Yitzkhaq Peretz (Shas), who was the Minister of the Interior at the time, approved our status for the State of Israel–Orthodox Jews returning to Israel under the Law of Return–for the Israeli Ministry of Interior in 1985. On top of that, I wrote Chief Rabbi Mardekhai Eliyahu a 3-page letter outlining my work – in reply to which, he sent me a short letter extending his blessing to me and wishing me success. Attempts by lower-level rabbis to subsequently extort us to suppress my research or invalidate our conversions lack rabbinic authority and contradict Ha•lâkh•âhꞋ that has stood for millennia.
In late 2011, the "anti-missionary" group, Yad lakhim, circulated an unsigned, "wanted"-style, poster in our neighborhood (Ra•a•nanꞋâ(h), Israel) with my photo warning that I'm a "missionary goy." (The facts show that I'm sure terrible at that: as a result of my teaching, scores of Christians have abandoned Christianity to follow Tor•âhꞋ while a perfect score of zero Jews have left Tor•âhꞋ to convert to Christianity!!!) Then a local rabbi, Shlomo Ishon, told my adult daughter, a "born Jewess" who has never in her life known anything but Orthodox Judaism, that she is a goyah and cannot marry!
We are proof that "anti-missionary" fanatics and rabbis of the Rabbinate indeed stoop to defying é‑‑ä and His Ha•lâkh•âhꞋ that has stood for millennia, which prohibits even mentioning another Jew's conversion, much less invalidating it. The prohibition against mixing dairy and meat is a Tor•âhꞋ mnemonic forbidding Jews from boiling a kid in its mother's milk! Tor•âhꞋ requires that the same Tor•âhꞋ be applied to Jew by birth and Jew by choice.
My wife and I are proof that, presently, the Ultra-Orthodox Israeli Rabbinate does not recognize Orthodox "converts" as Jews – unlike Jews, the Ultra-Orthodox Israeli Rabbinate view is that converts remain merely on permanent probation and, contrary to millennia of Ha•lâkh•âhꞋ, the Ultra-Orthodox Israeli Rabbinate presumes that they can invalidate their conversion at any future time, behind their back and without notice, without their input or knowledge, at the whim of almost any unidentified Ultra-Orthodox rabbi and based solely on slander and false allegations. Presently, Orthodox "converts" don't have the right to pursue historical research. "Converts" don't have the right to publish the factual results of their research. "Converts" don't have the right of free speech. The Rabbinate will pronounce them "goy•imꞋ" again! The Rabbinate has perverted conversion into their own probational slave status that can be invalidated at ANY future time for any whim they may wish, even generations later. And "born Jews" are increasingly discovering that these rabbis don't hesitate to question their Jewishness either when it comes time for they or their children to marry. A•gun•otꞋ, Sᵊphârâd•imꞋ, Ethiopians, non-Orthodox… the list goes on. "First, they came for the converts and I said nothing…" By defying the Ha•lâkh•âhꞋ of é‑‑ä that has stood for millennia, the Ultra-Orthodox Rabbinate has proven untrustable. They have broken trust. Satisfy them now, for what? Tomorrow what further fanatic standard will they require? 30 years from now, of your kid's kids?
As PësꞋakh approaches, Jews have a homegrown pharoah in town.
